Meet J.D.

J.D.’s extensive experience in both agriculture and finance makes him uniquely qualified to serve the farming and ranching communities. With a career spanning over 30 years in cattle operations and more than two decades in agricultural lending, J.D. combines practical experience with deep knowledge of the financial tools needed to support farm and ranch businesses.

Starting his cow/calf operation in 1992, J.D. has firsthand insight into the challenges and rewards of running an ag business. His tenure in various lending roles within the Farm Credit system has allowed him to work with a wide range of customers, helping them access the resources they need to succeed. His background includes internships at Farm Credit of Southern Colorado and Farm Credit of New Mexico, where he honed his expertise in agricultural finance. J.D. then continued to develop his career with Ag New Mexico and Ag Trust Farm Credit, where he currently serves.

An alumnus of Oklahoma Panhandle State University with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business and an MBA from West Texas A&M University, J.D. has a solid academic foundation that complements his practical experience. Additionally, he has been involved in leadership within his community, having served as a previous board member for the Arch Hurley Irrigation District.

J.D.’s passion for agriculture, particularly in working with individuals who value hard work and dedication to the industry, is evident in his approach to both his own business and his work as a lender. He finds fulfillment in seeing his clients prosper and grow, knowing that his efforts are contributing to the continued success and sustainability of agriculture.
